Academic Excellence at OHA: The Integrated Program
The OHA Academic Advantage
We provide a seamless integration of sport and study, ensuring our athletes are as prepared for the university lecture hall as they are for the rink.
-
Integrated Scheduling: Our timetable is built around the athlete. Classes, practices, and training are synchronized so that students never have to choose between a workout and a lecture.
-
On-Site Faculty & Instruction: Courses are taught on-campus by our dedicated secondary school teachers. This face-to-face interaction ensures a level of accountability and mentorship that online programs cannot match.
-
Small Class Sizes (15:1): We maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio to provide personalized instruction, ensuring no student-athlete falls behind, even during heavy travel periods.
-
Supervised Study Halls: To manage the rigors of the road, we integrate mandatory, supervised study sessions into the daily routine—and even during travel—to maintain academic momentum

Pathways to the Next Level
-
We don't just teach; we place. Our academic infrastructure is designed to open doors to the NCAA, U Sports, and prestigious global universities.
-
OSSD Accreditation: Students earn credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), a globally recognized standard of excellence that is a gateway to top-tier universities worldwide.
-
NCAA & USports Advising: Our dedicated advisors provide specialized counseling for NCAA Clearinghouse eligibility and U Sports recruitment, ensuring all academic requirements are met for collegiate play.
-
Standardized Test Prep: We offer dedicated support for SAT and ACT preparation, essential for athletes looking to secure scholarships and placement in US colleges.

Elite Hockey Development & Performance
At OHA, we don't just play the game; we master it. Our program is built on the four pillars of modern elite hockey: Technical Skill, Physical Power, Tactical Intelligence, and Scout Visibility.

DON’T MISS the CRITICAL Teenage Years of Development ……. ASK "Is the program Hockey Canada sanctioned?"
Be AWARE of the UNSANCTIONED program - TRAP - What they wont tell you
Staying with a sanctioned academy like OHA ensures that every goal you score and every save you make is being tracked by top scouts and the people who hand out scholarships …. Will get you to the next level.
The "Invisible" Player: If you aren't in a sanctioned program, you risk being completely invisible to the recruiters who matter. You’re a teenager once.
Sanctioned (OHA) Non-Sanctioned Programs
NCAA DI / DIII Scholarship Primary Pathway - High (Well-scouted) Extremely Low - close to ZERO
U Sports (Canadian University) Direct Scouting Rarely Scouted
Team Canada U18 Eligible & Seen Ineligible
Elite Showcases Invited Banned
Scouting Direct access to Junior/College scouts Limited; often ignored by top scouts
Eligibility Eligible for all provincial/national events Often banned from sanctioned events
Insurance Full Hockey Canada coverage Varies (often inadequate)
Coaching Certified & background checked No mandatory national standard
Competition Top-tier (CSSHL, OWHA etc.) Often poor and inconsistent quality
NHL Drafted. Yes (Primary source) No (Virtually never)
National Team. Eligible Banned
Level of Play Consistent & Elite Inconsistent & Unregulated

Integrated Schedule: Practices are built into the school day, ensuring players are fresh and focused for every session.

-
Elite League or Showcase Events: Our student-athletes compete at the highest levels of prep hockey. While many of our teams compete within elite leagues, others follow a specialized Showcase Schedule. This model allows our teams to travel to premier scouted events across North America, ensuring maximum exposure to NCAA, USports, and Junior scouts
-
North American Showcases: We travel to some of the continent’s most high-profile showcases, specifically chosen for their high density of NCAA, USport and Junior scouts.
-
The Family Advisor Connection: Our coaches act as direct liaisons, maintaining active pipelines to NCAA Division I and III, USports, and Junior recruiters.

-
What’s Included: OHA manages the entire legal process, including the preparation and notarization of the Custodianship Declaration forms.

The Benefit: We act as the official bridge between the school, the student, and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), ensuring all legal residency requirements are met without extra administrative stress for the parents.

The Variable Tuition Program: A Shared Commitment
At Ontario Hockey Academy, we are committed to building an elite community of student-athletes.
Our Variable Tuition program is designed to bridge the gap between a family’s financial reach and the cost of a premier OHA education.
Please contact our admissions team for a personalized consultation.

How We Make it Work
The Variable Tuition rate is a carefully balanced "three-pillar" model. To make enrollment possible for qualified candidates, we look at a combination of:
-
Academic & Athletic Merit: Recognition of students who bring exceptional talent, leadership, and high academic standards to our community.
-
Need-Based Analysis: A confidential review of a family’s unique financial profile.
-
Personal Funding: The foundational commitment from the family to invest in their child’s future.

Important Program Considerations
Because we are committed to maintaining elite facilities and professional faculty, our ability to offer Variable Tuition is guided by the following principles:
-
Limited Annual Subsidy: As a private institution, our subsidy pool is small. We can only offer a limited number of Variable Tuition applicants each year. We encourage early applications, as these spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis for mission-fit students.
-
Partial Support Model: Our program is designed to partial tuition assistance, not cover it in full. Every OHA family contributes to their child’s education, ensuring a community of families who are equally invested in the Academy’s success.
-
Fiscal Accountability: Because our academic and athletic schedules are pre-funded to ensure resources are ready for your child, strict adherence to the agreed-upon payment schedule is critical. Maintaining your account in good standing ensures the continued delivery of the high-level services.
Payment Schedule
Tuition Investment & Payment Plans
At Ontario Hockey Academy, we are committed to providing a world-class experience with a transparent and manageable financial structure.
To assist our families, we offer several convenient ways to manage your child’s educational and athletic investment.
1. Flexible Payment Options
We provide the convenience of customized payment plans to suit your family’s financial cycle. Tuition and fees can be remitted via:
-
Digital Payments: Online bill payment and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
-
Direct Methods: Cash, Debit, or Personal Cheque.
-
Credit Cards: All major cards are accepted for secure, immediate processing with a card 4% service fee.
2. Securing Your Spot (Deposits)
Because we maintain strict class sizes and roster caps to ensure elite-level attention, a deposit is required to guarantee a student's placement for the upcoming season.
-
New Students: A non-refundable enrollment deposit is due immediately upon receipt of your Letter of Acceptance.
This deposit secures the student's seat in the classroom and their spot on the team roster.
-
Returning Students: To ensure continuity in their development pathway, returning families must submit their non-refundable re-enrollment deposit by February1st for the following academic year to secure spot on team roster.

3. Payment Plan Administration
Our finance office works closely with families to establish a clear schedule of installments. By adhering to a structured payment plan, families can focus on their athlete’s progress throughout the season without the stress of "lump-sum" billing.

Important Enrollment Notes
-
Commitment: Deposits are non-refundable as they represent a committed spot that is taken off the market, allowing the Academy to finalize faculty hiring and league registrations.
-
Financial Aid: Families participating in our Variable Tuition program will have their specific payment schedules outlined in their customized enrollment contract.

If you have questions regarding international wire transfers or specific payment plan dates, please contact our Admissions Finance Office directly.
Possible Extra Fees
Incidental Expenses & Optional Services
While our Academic and Hockey fees are comprehensive, certain individual costs are managed on a student-by-student basis.
These expenses vary depending on travel distance from home, personal spending habits, and specific post-secondary goals.

1. Administrative & Academic Fees
To ensure every student is prepared for graduation and beyond, the following one-time or situational fees may apply:
-
University & Recruitment: SAT/ACT testing fees and university application costs.
-
Graduation: Senior portraits, graduation ceremony fees, and the school yearbook.
-
Documentation: Canadian Student Visa processing, USA visiting visa etc (for international students).

2. Professional Health & Wellness
The health and safety of our athletes is a priority. Expenses not covered by standard tuition include:
-
Medical Services: Professional services or medications not covered by the student’s primary health insurance.
-
Athletic Therapy: Specialized one-on-one treatments or rehabilitation sessions beyond standard team care.
-
Emergency Logistics: Incidentals or transportation (taxis/shuttles) required for medical appointments, illness, or injury.

3. Personal Discretionary Expenses

-
Personal Services: Professional dry cleaning, garment mending, and individual laundry services.
-
Communication & Travel: Long-distance calls, taxis, and shuttles for personal use, as well as travel to and from the Academy for school breaks.

Important Financial Notes
Accountability: Students are responsible for the care of their environment.
Charges for damage to dormitory rooms or school property will be billed to the family.
Technology: All students are required to provide their own laptop for academic use.
Financial Integrity: A fee will be applied for any NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) or failed payment attempts.

We recommend that families maintain a small "incidental fund" to cover these occurrences throughout the year.
Any incidental charges are billed to the family.
